Painted Crow Designs creates from a small studio based on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Somerset.
The business name was chosen in remembrance of a Crow fledgling that regularly visited the garden several years ago. It looked like his light feathers had been painted on, and so he became known as The Painted Crow. For some reason he didn't reach a year old and is now buried in the garden.
A Painted Crow feather hangs in the studio in honour of his short life.
There are still numerous cheeky resident Crows frequenting the garden and they often leave feather gifts and these are sometimes used in the creation of prints and textiles.
