Painted Crow Designs works from a small studio based on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Somerset.

The business name was created in remembrance of a Crow fledgling that regularly visited the garden several years ago, but some of his feathers failed to turned black (top left). The lighter feathers on his side looked like they had been painted on, and so his nickname became Painted Crow. For some reason he didn't reach a year old.

A Painted Crow feather hangs in the studio as a reminder of his daily visits and in honour of his short life.

There are currently numerous cheeky resident Crows frequenting the garden and their daily antics keep everyone amused. They often leave feather gifts and these are sometimes used in the creation of prints and textiles.
